School Resource Officer Program
The Woolwich Township Police Department is a member of the New Jersey Association of School Resource Officers (NJASRO). NJASRO is a
not-for-profit organization for school based law enforcement officers, school administrators, and school security/safety professionals
working as partners to protect students, school faculty and staff and the schools they attend.
Our Department has 11 officers who have received over 40 hours of specialized training in school policing, with the below 5 officers currently
assigned to the SRO Unit.
- Ptl. Bay Kasten
- SLEO II Rodney Sawyer
- SLEO II Jeff Thompson
- SLEO III Michael Petrutz
- SLEO III William Franklin
The true and tested strength in a School Resource Officer program is that it is much more than a curriculum. Our SRO Program is adapted to
meet the needs of our communities, to achieve safe schools, and to build effective community partnerships. The Officers assigned to this unit
act as a positive role model for students and are a valuable resource to our youth. We strive to bridge the gap between law enforcement and
the community through the promotion of positive relationships and interactions.
